ICA - The Institute of Cultural Affairs is registered in the U.S. since 1973 and in Germany since 1976. As an organization concerned with global and social transformation it works with the development of organizations and communities, and aims to promote social innovation through participation.

One focus of ICA is to accompany groups and organizations in processes of planning their future, solving their problems and making difficult decisions on basis of the Technology of Participation® (ToP®) and to train people in these methods.

The various methods and programs of ICA share one common vision and challenge: the desire to enable people to develop their own creativity to shape their own lives.

The Technology of Participation® (ToP®) methods include Focused Conversation, Consensus Workshop and Action Planning, and furthermore the Participatory Strategic Planning® (PSP®) and Facilitating Conciliation®.

ICAs are present in every time zone in over 30 countries on six continents and work worldwide for development, democracy and participation. ICA Germany is part of ICA Europe and the global ICA network and takes part in international exchanges, internal trainings and the development of methods.
